The arms were officially granted in 1664. The arms show three abies in front of the coulours of Austria. Already in 1558 the city asked for a grant of arms from the Counts of Tirol, which was rejected. Still, at the end of the 16th century the city already used seals and arms with the above composition. Only in 1664 it was granted.
Deutsch: Blasonierung:„In Rot ein silberner (weißer) Balken, darüber über einem gleichhohen grünen Dreiberg, drei grüne Tannen mit naturfarbenen Stämmen.“
Das Wappen wurde der Marktgemeinde bereits 1664 verliehen. Die drei Tannen auf den drei Hügeln, steht für den Waldreichtum der Region und den Ursprung des Namens Reutte, der sich von „roden“ abgeleitet hat ("Redendes Wappen"). Die drei Hügel stehen für die Landschaft; die rot-weiß-roten Streifen zeigen die Zugehörigkeit zu Tirol und Österreich.
