Object history
Deutsch: Die am 1. April 1974 durch Vereinigung des gleichnamigen alten Orts mit Hausen im Tal gebildete neue Gemeinde gestaltete ihr Wappen aus wesentlichen Bestandteilen der Wappen ihrer beiden Rechtsvorgängerinnen. Der golden gehörnte silberne Widderkopf auf blauem Grund war zuvor die Wappenfigur von Hausen im Tal. Sie erinnert an das Ortsadelsgeschlecht, das einen Widder im Familienwappen geführt hatte. Die Schräglinksteilung im Wellenschnitt bezieht sich auf die in starken Mäandern das Gemeindegebiet durchfließende Donau, an die schon die Wellenteilung im früheren Beuroner Wappen erinnert hatte. Aus dem letzteren wurde auch die vom Klosterwappen abgeleitete Initiale b mit dem Kreuz übernommen. Das Landratsamt hat das Wappen und die Flagge am 28. April 1982 verliehen.
