Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde besteht aus Durbach und dem am 1. Januar 1973 eingemeindeten Ebersweier. Die über Durbach gelegene Burg Staufenberg war das Zentrum einer Herrschaft gleichen Namens, deren Wappen als „redendes" Bild Dreiberg und Kelch (= Stauf) enthielt. Dieses Wappen wurde - teilweise ohne Dreiberg - auch in den Siegeln des Gerichts Staufenberg verwendet, deren ältestes wohl auf Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts zu datieren ist. Im 19. Jahrhundert hat Durbach, der Hauptort des Gerichts, den gedeckten Kelch in das Gemeindesiegel übernommen. Im Jahre 1901 gestaltete das Generallandesarchiv das Gemeindewappen nach dem Staufenberger Wappen neu. Der Kelch kann auch als Symbol für den bis 1805 zur Reichslandvogtei Ortenau gehörenden Weinbauort Ebersweier angesehen werden. Am 1. April 1985 wurde die Flagge vom Landratsamt Ortenaukreis verliehen.
