Object history
Deutsch: Der Heilige Ägidius ist der Patron der Höpfinger Pfarrkirche. Nach der Legende ernährte er sich als Einsiedler von der Milch einer Hirschkuh. Schon in dem 1777 angefertigten Gerichtssiegel Höpfingens ist der Heilige als Abt mit seinen Attributen Buch, Krummstab und Hirschkuh, wie eine Statue auf einer Konsole stehend, abgebildet. Auf die Jagd der Hirschkuh durch die Jagdgesellschaft des Westgotenkönigs spielt der Pfeil an. Das Generallandesarchiv schlug im Jahre 1909 vor, die Heiligengestalt in einem Wappenschild ins Siegel aufzunehmen. 1957 wurde das Wappen überarbeitet und am 17. Mai 1966 mit der Flagge vom Innenministerium verliehen.
