Object history
Deutsch: Das älteste Gerichtssiegel Kippenheims, das seit 1495 nachweisbar in Gebrauch war, zeigte ein Rebmesser. Das mit 1610 datierte Wappen am Rathauserker bringt dagegen Pflugschar und Rebmesser in der heute üblichen Anordnung. Seit Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts fand die Pflugschar auch Eingang in die Siegel, zunächst unter einem liegenden Rebmesser, im 19. Jahrhundert dann rechts neben dem Rebmesser. Dem Vorschlag des Generallandesarchivs vom Jahre 1907, das älteste Siegelbild als Wappen zu übernehmen, wollte sich die Gemeinde nicht anschließen und führte statt dessen die Embleme in der seit 1610 überlieferten Komposition ohne Wappenschild im Siegel. Schließlich wurde das Wappen in dieser Form festgelegt und am 28. Februar 1961 vom Innenministerium verliehen. Auch das am 1. Januar 1972 eingemeindete Schmieheim hatte in seinen Siegeln des 19. Jahrhunderts und im 1899 geschaffenen Wappen unter anderem eine Pflugschar geführt.
