Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde von der Gemeinde im Jahre 1930 festgelegt und auf Anraten der Archivdirektion Stuttgart gemäß der Darstellung eines Turmes auf einem Dreiberg im ältesten, 1598 erstmals belegten und kurz davor gestochenen Siegel der Gemeinde gestaltet. Seit dem 19. Jahrhundert war - sicher in Anlehnung an das frühere Siegelbild - anstelle des Turms eine Art dreitürmiger Burg als Siegelmotiv verwendet worden. Im Ort steht noch der Bergfried der 1291 erstmals erwähnten und Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts von Herzog Eberhard von Württemberg der Gemeinde übereigneten Diepoldsburg. Es ist anzunehmen, dass die Gemeinde mit der Aufnahme des Turms als Siegelbild die Besonderheit von Burgbesitz und Befestigung des Ortes (seit dem 15. Jahrhundert) dokumentieren wollte. Der Dreiberg dürfte ursprünglich nur heraldisches Stilmittel und nicht auf die drei den Ort umgebenden Berge Dobel, Buigen und Büchle zu beziehen sein. Die Flaggenfarben wurden wohl auch 1930 bestimmt.
