Object history
Deutsch: Der Schild ist durch eine aufsteigende eingebogene Spitze in drei Felder geteilt. Feld 1 ist in Blau und Gold geschachtet, Feld 2 zeigt auf blauem, mit silbernen Kreuzchen bestreutem Grund einen steigenden, silbernen Löwen, silbern gekrönt und silbern gewehrt. Feld 3 zeigt in Rot ein silbernes sechsspeichiges Rad. Für das Ortswappen waren keinerlei Vorbilder vorhanden. Auch alte Gerichtssiegel von Pleitersheim waren nicht festzustellen. Das Ortswappen ist deshalb eine vollkommen moderne Gestalltung, welche die Ortsgeschichte heraldisch auswertet. Die längsten und einflußreichsten Ortsherren waren die Grafen von Sponheim, die Grafen von Nassau-Saarbrücken und Kurmainz. Das Ortswappen vereinigt in gleicher Reihenfolge die Wappen dieser Ortsherren in einer Komposition.
