Object history
Deutsch: Das Motiv wurde 1930 von der Gemeinde als Siegelbild angenommen und 1957 als Wappen festgelegt. Die Axt symbolisiert die Entstehung des Ortes als Waldhufendorf auf der Schwarzwaldhochfläche während der hochmittelalterlichen Rodungszeit. Auf die ursprüngliche Form „Sigmaresfelt" des Ortsnamens, der vom Personennamen Siegmar abgeleitet ist, bezieht sich das Schwert als „redendes" Bild (für „Sieg"). Der Auerhahn dokumentiert das Vorkommen des Auerwilds auf Simmersfelder Gemarkung. Die Gemeinde wurde 1975 durch Zu-sammenschluss von fünf Orten neu gebildet. Da die Aussage von Axt und Auerhahn auch für die Gesamtgemeinde gilt, wird das Simmersfelder Wappen weitergeführt. Es wurde am 5. Mai 1982 zusammen mit der Flagge vom Landratsamt Calw neu verliehen.
