Object history
Deutsch: Nach einer, volkstümlichen Deutung soll der Gemeindename ursprünglich ein fließendes Gewässer (Ach) bei den Baumstümpfen einer Rodefläche bezeichnet haben. Deshalb hatte schon die frühere Gemeinde Stimpfach dieses Wappen geführt. Durch Vereinigungen mit Rechenberg (1973) und Weipertshofen (1975) entstand die neue Gemeinde Stimpfach. Weipertshofen hatte zuvor ebenfalls einen Wellenbalken im Wappen geführt. Das Wappen des ehemaligen Ortsadels von Rechenberg wies die Farben Silber und Rot auf. Die entsprechenden Bestandteile des wieder aufgegriffenen „redenden" Stimpfacher Wappens repräsentieren somit auch diese Orte. Das Landratsamt hat das Wappen und die Flagge am 17. Dezember 1980 verliehen.
