Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Unterpleichfeld besteht seit 1972 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Burggrumbach und Unterpleichfeld. Sie hat das Wappen von Unterpleichfeld aus dem Jahr 1958 unverändert und formlos übernommen. Das Wappen erinnert an zwei für die Gemeinde bedeutende Adelsgeschlechter. Vorne steht das Wappen der Herren von Grumbach, die bis 1593 in Burggrumbach und bis 1603 in Unterpleichfeld die Ortsherrschaft innehatten. Die hintere Schildhälfte stellt das Wappen des Würzburger Fürstbischofs Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn (1573 bis 1617) dar. Er verlieh Unterpleichfeld eine eigene Dorf- und Gerichtsordnung, nachdem der Ort 1604 an das Hochstift Würzburg gekommen war.
