Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde in dieser Form nach dem Entwurf des Verfassers vom Innenministerium Rheinland-Pfalz durch Urkunde vom 16.09.1954 genehmigt. Volxheim kam nach dem Aussterben der Grafen von Sponheim 1437 aus deren Besitz in gemeinschaftlichen Besitz von Kurpfalz und Baden, bis durch einen im Jahre 1707 geschlossenen Austauschvertrag das Dorf der Kurpfalz allein überwiesen wurde. Durch Vertrag vom 06.06.1714 wurde Volxheim mit anderen Orten gegen das halbe Amt Böckelheim an Kurmainz abgetreten, dem Oberamt Neu-Bamberg zugeteilt und blieb bei Kurmainz bis zur französischen Revolution. Das "S Gerichts zu Volcksheim 1540" zeigt bereits in einem geteilten Schild die kurpfälzischen Hoheitszeichen in der oben beschriebenen Form. Dieses Siegel ist 1541, 1542 und 1556 urkundlich nachweisbar (Original-Urkunden im Staatsarchiv Koblenz und Staatsarchiv Darmstadt, Gipsabdrücke im Stadtarchiv Mainz).
