Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen weist auf zwei Adelsfamilien hin, die für die Geschichte des Ortes eine wichtige Rolle gespielt haben. Die drei goldenen Kugeln im schwarzen Schrägbalken stammen aus dem Wappen der Herren von Werdnau, die seit 1423 die Herrschaft von Waltenhausen innehatten. 1541 erwarben die Fugger das Dorf und stifteten 1548 das Pfründespital Waltenhausen. Der Ort blieb bis 1806 in ihrem Besitz. Daran erinnert die Lilie aus dem Fuggerwappen.
