Object history
Deutsch: Die schwarze Hirschstange ist das Wappensymbol der Benediktinerabtei Weißenohe. Aribo, Pfalzgraf von Bayern, gründete das Kloster zwischen 1053 und 1109. Das Kloster stand 1325 unter der Nürnberger Vogtei, ab der Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts unter der pfälzischen. Im Vertrag von 1526 zwischen der Pfalz und der Reichsstadt Nürnberg behauptete Nürnberg die hohe Gerichtsbarkeit, die Pfalz alle übrigen zur Landeshoheit gehörigen Rechte. Im Zuge der Reformation in der Oberpfalz wurde das Kloster 1556 aufgehoben. Nachdem die Oberpfalz 1628 an Kurbayern gekommen war, wurde sie wieder katholisch, das Kloster kam wieder zurück an den Orden. Die Farben Schwarz und Gold erinnern an die pfälzische Landeshoheit und an die kirchliche Zugehörigkeit zum Bistum Bamberg. Der Kirschenzweig stellt die Lage des Ortes in einem großen Kirschanbaugebiet dar.
