Object history
Deutsch: Winterhausen liegt, vom Main getrennt, gegenüber von Sommerhausen und trägt wegen der schlechteren Sonnenlage zur Unterscheidung von Sommerhausen den Zusatz Winter-. Die Wappen beider Orte ähneln sich sehr. In beiden steht in der unteren Schildhälfte ein Rebstück mit zwei Blättern und einer Traube. In der oberen Hälfte ist im Wappen von Sommerhausen die Sonne in der Bedeutung für Sommer dargestellt, im Wappen von Winterhausen dagegen Mond und Sterne in der Bedeutung für Winter. Das Wappen ist durch Abdrucke eines Siegels aus dem 17. Jahrhundert seit 1722 belegt mit einem Berg unter der Traube. Die Farben sind dem Wappen der Grafen von Limpurg-Speckfeld entnommen, zu deren Herrschaftsgebiet Winterhausen einst gehörte.
