Object history Das Gemeindewappen vereint die heraldischen Symbole der beiden historisch bedeutsamsten Herrschaftsträger im Gemeindegebiet. Der steigende rote Wolf repräsentiert das Hochstift Passau und erinnert daran, dass Aholming im Mittelalter eine geschlossene Herrschaft des Hochstifts Passau war. Der blaue Balken im goldenen Schild entspricht dem Familienwappen der Nothaft, die als wichtigste Inhaber der zeitweise durch Erbfälle mehrfach aufgesplitterten Herrschaft Aholming von 1413 bis 1735 Hoch- und Niedergericht sowie die Grundherrschaft im Gemeindegebiet ausübten.
