Object history	Deutsch: Der Gemeinde Johannesberg ist am 22. März 1976^[1] durch die Regierung von Unterfranken die Genehmigung erteilt worden, das vorstehend beschriebene Wappen zu führen. Mit dem Schwert wird das seltene Kirchenpatrozinium „Johannes Enthauptung“ der örtlichen Pfarrkirche zum Ausdruck gebracht, dessen Bezeichnung auch im Ortsnamen anklingt. Als eine Stiftung der Grafen von Rieneck gelangte die Kirche 1334 an das Erzstift Mainz, das im Wappen durch das sogenannte Mainzer Rad symbolisiert wird. Die Dreiberge deuten die geographische Lage der Gemeinde im Vorspessart mit den Bergortsteilen Johannesberg, Breunsberg, Sternberg an, während das Bachsymbol auf die Ortsteile Oberafferbach, Steinbach und Rückersbach hinweist.^[2] Flaggenbeschreibung: „Blau-Weiß-Blau mit aufgelegtem Wappen“^[1] English: Granted 22 March 1976.
