For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Seelow, "Filmfesttage auf dem Lande Frühjahr 1954" Zentralbild Funck 16.3.1954 "Filmfesttage auf dem Lande Frühjahr 1954" haben begonnen Im Oderbruchkreis Seelow (Bez. Frankfurt-Oder) begannen mit der Festaufführung des DEFA-Farbfilms "Ernst Thälmann - ein Sohn seiner Klasse" im MTS Kulturhaus Sachsendorf die "Filmfesttage auf dem Lande- Frühjahr 1954". Den Genossenschafts- und werktätigen Einzelbauern, den Landarbeitern und Arbeitern der Betriebe stellten sich in dieser Vorstellung eine Gruppe der Darsteller des Dokumentar-Films vor. UBz: Werner Müller, Arbeiter beim VEAB Rathstock, Herbert Kummerehl, Leiter des VEAB Rathstock; Hans Klering, Darsteller des Aussmussen im Film "Ernst Thälmann - ein Sohn seiner Klasse" und Karl Knaus, Genossenschaftsbauer von der LPG "Walter Ulbricht" in Kietz, im Gespräch nach der Festaufführung im MTS Kulturhaus Sachsendorf Kreis Seelow. |

English: Spring 1954 Country Film Festival, Seelow (East Germany) Heinz Funck (Zentralbild), March 16, 1954. The Spring 1954 Country Film Festival, Seelow, in the administrative district of Oderbruch (near Frankfurt (Oder). The festival began with a screening of the DEFA color film, Ernst Thälmann – ein Sohn seiner Klasse [the first part of the English release Ernst Thälmann] at the MTS Sachsendorf Culture House. At this screening, a group of the actors were introduced to cooperative and individual farmers, farm laborers and factory workers. Pictured: Werner Müller, VEAB Rathstock, Herbert Kummerehl, head of VEAB Rathstock; Hans Klering, actor ([played the character of] Aussmussen) in the film, Ernst Thälmann – ein Sohn seiner Klasse and Karl Knaus, cooperative farmer from the LPG "Walter Ulbricht" in Kietz, in conversation after the screening at the MTS Sachsendorf Culture House, Seelow district. |
