Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen vereinigt Symbole aus den um 1930 geschaffenen und mit der Vereinigung von Deißlingen und Lauffen ob Rottweil am 1. Januar 1974 als amtliche Zeichen erloschenen Wappen der beiden Ortsteile. Deißlingen führte in Gold einen blauen Doppelhaken, der auf das seit 1780 nachweisbare Ortszeichen zurückgeht. Das Lauffener Wappen zeigte unter einem mit einer vierendigen schwarzen Hirschstange belegten goldenen Schildhaupt in Grün den goldenen lateinischen Großbuchstaben L. Das Schildhaupt mit Hirschstange wurde zur Vermeidung eines heraldischen Farbverstoßes in vertauschten Farben in das neue Wappen übernommen. Die Hirschstange erinnert daran, dass beide Ortsteile seit 1803 zu Württemberg gehörten. Am 10. Dezember 1981 verlieh das Landratsamt Rottweil das Recht zur Führung des Wappens und der Flagge.
