Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde wurde durch Vereinigung von Engelsbrand, Grunbach und Salmbach am 1. Januar 1975 gebildet. In dem am 20. Dezember 1984 vom Landratsamt Enzkreis verliehenen Wappen sind Symbole aus den 1929 und 1948 angenommenen Wappen der Ortsteile zu einem für die Gesamtgemeinde aussagekräftigen Bild vereinigt. Die blaue Wellenschrägleiste hat ihre Vorbilder in den blauen Wellenschrägbalken oder Wellenbalken der Wappen von Grunbach und Salmbach und kennzeichnet die beiden Bach-Namen. Das Stechpalmenblatt aus dem Wappen von Grunbach weist auf die Flora des Nordschwarzwaldes hin, in dem die Gemeinde liegt. Der brennende Ast („Brand") steht „redend" für den Gemeindenamen. Er stammt aus dem Wappen der früheren Gemeinde Engelsbrand und symbolisiert die Entstehung der Orte in der hochmittelalterlichen Rodungszeit. Die Flagge wurde vom Landratsamt am 10. April 1990 verliehen.
