Object history
Deutsch: Karlsdorf ist 1813 von den Bewohnern Dettenheims gegründet worden, die ihr ständig vom Rhein bedrohtes Dorf aufgegeben hatten (siehe Dettenheim). Die vordere Schildhälfte zeigt das Bild des Dettenheimer Gerichtssiegels vom Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts, das 1955 Eingang in das Wappen Karlsdorfs gefunden hatte. Die auffliegende Ente stammt aus dem 1958 gestalteten Wappen Neuthards, das ebenfalls auf ein Siegelbild des ausgehenden 18. Jahrhunderts zurückgreift und auf den ehemaligen herrschaftlichen Entenfang hinweist. Wappen und Flagge wurden der 1975 gebildeten Gemeinde vom Landratsamt Karlsruhe am 9. Juli 1980 verliehen. Die Tingierung entspricht den Farben der früheren Landesherrschaften Kurpfalz und Speyer.
