Object history
Deutsch: Nach Eingliederung von Steinberg in die Gemeinde Weinstetten nahm diese 1972 den Namen Staig an. Am 10. Januar 1976 ging schließlich aus einer Vereinigung mit Altheim ob Weihung die neue Gemeinde Staig hervor. Alle drei in ihr aufgegangenen ehemaligen Gemeinden hatten eine sogenannte Heidenkrone im Wappen geführt. Sie erinnert auch im neuen Wappen an die gemeinsamen Beziehungen der drei Ortsteile zur Grafschaft Kirchberg, aus deren Wappen sie abgeleitet ist. Darüber hinaus wird Steinberg durch seine „redende" Wappenfigur und Weinstetten durch den Rebzweig repräsentiert. Das Landratsamt hat das Wappen und die Flagge am 7. Februar 1979 verliehen.
