Object history
Deutsch: Der Würzburger Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn (1573 bis 1617) verlieh dem Ort mit Wappenbrief von 1581 das Wappen mit dem Erzengel Michael, der auf seiner silbernen Rüstung das Familienwappen des Fürstbischofs trägt. Der Wappenbrief ist 1945 durch einen Großbrand vernichtet worden. Der Heilige Michael ist der Patron der Pfarrkirche. Das Wappen ist auch auf einer Ortsfahne von 1616 überliefert, die noch bis Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts existierte. 1806 stellte der Ort die Wappenführung im Siegel ein. Die Wiederannahme erfolgte 1835. Seine endgültige Fassung erhielt das Wappen 1952.
