Object history
Deutsch: Der Nadelbaum redet für den ersten Teil des Ortsnamens und weist auf die Lage der Gemeinde im alten Hochwald bei Kraiburg hin. Das Zahnrad, ein Industrie- und Handwerkssymbol, versinnbildlicht die Wirtschaftskraft der Gemeinde, die erst 1950 als erste deutsche Heimatvertriebenengemeinde gegründet wurde. Nach 1945 fanden Heimatvertriebene und Flüchtlinge aus den deutschen Ostgebieten in den Baracken und Bunkern auf dem Areal des ehemaligen Rüstungswerkes Kraiburg provisorische Unterkunft. Schon Mitte der 1950er-Jahre bestanden rund 200 Betriebe der Eisen- und Glasverarbeitung, der Spielwaren-, Zuckerwaren-, Kunststoff- und Keramikherstellung. 1960 wurde die inzwischen über 8000 Einwohner zählende Gemeinde zur Stadt erhoben. Ein erstes Wappen aus der Zeit der Gemeindegründung um 1950, das Bürgermeister Hubert Rösler gestaltet hatte, zeigte ohne farbliche Festlegung ein stilisiertes Fabrikgebäude mit hohem Kamin, darüber drei Nadelbäume, darunter vier Häuser. Wegen der Vielzahl der Figuren erhielt dieser vor Ort in Gebrauch stehende Entwurf keine amtliche Genehmigung.
