Please, before moving a page, add a suggestion (explaining why) to its talk page. There are reasons why "Armenia" doesn't redirect to "Larmenän". If you want to propose something, let's talk about it. --Smeira 11:13, 17 yulul 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that's the main point: "Larmenän" is the Volapük word; "Armenia" is just a foreign word (it doesn't start with a consonant, it doesn't end in -än, etc.). Likewise there's no "France" redirecting to "Fransän", or "Deutschland" to "Deutän". (That's only for land names; city names are a different matter, so Yerevan can stay as it is.). As for writing titles in English: well, in principle, they would have to be fixed. I suppose your goal is simply to place here articles about your country, not learn enough Volapük, right? You're probably placing similar articles on other Wikipedias, and you probably don't intend to learn all these languages. So I could propose two possibilities: (a) you put a list of the articles you want to create on my userpage; (b) you create the article titles in English, but you place them in the class of "articles to correct" (by adding: [[Klad:Yegeds menodabik]] at the end), so that they can be later found and "Volapükized". Well, I certainly do find the language interesting! ;-) If you want to know more about it, look up Wikipedia articles like this one (which has a few mistakes, but is still mostly OK). A good place to start if you want to learn Volapük is the quick course written by Ralph Midgley in English (and which can be found here.). There's a simple English-Volapük, Volapük-English dictionary at Wikibooks -- click on "Vödabuk" (=dictionary). If you want further help, let me know. It's the same dictionary, just formated differently -- the only difference is that the one on Wikibooks has a few more words (those that were invented between 1998 and 2007, about one or two dozen). --Smeira 11:41, 17 yulul 2007 (UTC)

What do you mean, I don't add vo to en? I've been doing this for quite a while for most of the articles here (place names, etc); only when I can't find a page there (most of the Volapükists listed in Klad:Volapükans don't have pages in any other Wikipedia) do I not add it to en Wikipedia. Look at the articles on dinosaurs in Klad:Dinosaurs! (Or did you mean only the articles on Armenia? Oh, I haven't done much with these yet, just like of time... They'll eventually get referenced in the en-Wikipedia too. Of course, if you want to go ahead and add the links yourself, be my guest!!! :-)...) --Smeira 03:50, 21 yulul 2007 (UTC)

There was a guy here a couple of months ago -- Geban:Malafaya -- who did a lot of interwiki's to the English wikipedia. So most of the (U.S.) placenames in the en-wikipedia now have links to vo (except, of course, for the newest ones that I have added this month). I assume he's going to do it again soon... but, as I said, if you would like to add vo-links to en-wikipedia, then please go ahead! You have my blessings! :-)

Yes, the sad truth is that most of the two dozen living Volapükists are older than 50 and don't like computers very much; they're probably never going to help here. I certainly wish there were more people interested in learning the language and contribute to this wikipedia, but as far as I can see it will be a one-man show for quite a while. I would certainly welcome anyone interested in learning the language and contributing -- if you or any of your friends feel like doing that, please go ahead!

Armenian also looks like a complicated language. Funny -- when I look at words in the Armenian alphabet, I sometimes can't tell where one letter finishes and the other begins; they look a lot like a series of "m"'s without much space between them. Must be difficult to learn! Maybe someday I'll give it a try. (Are there any online Armenian courses that you know of?) --Smeira 14:33, 21 yulul 2007 (UTC)
